Main Roads Don Aitken Centre IT department
The project delivered us a suite of challenges as the area we were to refit was positioned at the centre of an occupied office demanding that noise, dust, odours and other inconveniences associated with fit outs were kept to a minimum. Out of hours work for the demolition and other works became essential and comprised a large percentage of the effort expended.
Removal of the ceiling tiles (a type from yesteryear) revealed a number of horrors that demanded substantial additional works by our electrical, mechanical, ceiling and joinery contractors all of whom worked with the architects and ourselves to overcome the difficulties presented.
The end product provided the fresh working environment sought by the client who has since asked us to undertake two further albeit smaller projects for them.
